What does Christmas Card Agent do?

Christmas Card Agent is an AI agent for one job: turn a family photo into Christmas portraits and a print-ready card. You hand it 1 to 3 family photos, it works through each step, and it hands back Christmas portraits and print-ready card files. If something needs your call, it stops and asks once instead of guessing.

Sample output

Real results from our own test runs, not a mock-up. Credits and settings are under each picture.

Photo of a smiling woman with glasses holding a small white and brown Shih Tzu, with a man leaning in, next to the AI Christmas portrait of the same couple and dog in a snowy forest at golden hour in knitted hats and scarves
Example result from our test run (October 2026). Left: the photo. Right: the snow-scene portrait the agent handed back, made with GPT Image 2. The first pass at low quality scored 0.52 on the face check, under the 0.80 bar, so the agent redid it at medium quality and it scored 0.90. Photo: Helena Lopes on Unsplash (Unsplash License).
Photo of a smiling couple sitting on a cream sofa in a bare room next to the AI Christmas portrait of the same two people in matching red tartan pyjamas on the sofa beside a decorated tree and presents
Example result from our test run (October 2026). Left: the photo. Right: the matching-pyjamas scene made with GPT Image 2. The first pass at low quality scored 0.73, under the 0.80 bar, so the agent redid it at medium quality: 0.84. Photo: Ninthgrid on Unsplash (Unsplash License).
Selfie photo of four smiling friends outdoors in autumn next to the AI Christmas portrait of the same four people in loud reindeer and snowflake Christmas sweaters at a party with string lights
Example result from our test run (October 2026). Left: the photo of four adult friends. Right: the ugly-sweater scene made with GPT Image 2. Passed on the first try at low quality: the four faces scored 0.93 on average against their photo. Photo: Vitaly Gariev on Unsplash (Unsplash License).
Photo of a husky in a Santa hat in front of a Christmas tree next to the AI Christmas portrait of the same husky in a red knitted beanie and scarf in a snowy forest at sunset
Example result from our test run (October 2026). Left: the photo of a pet. Right: the snowy-forest scene made with GPT Image 2 at low quality. The face check scores people, not animals, so a person checks pets by eye; an automatic check found no invented animals or people. Photo: Alin Luna on Unsplash (Unsplash License).
A finished 5 by 7 inch Christmas card on a cream table: a snowy-forest portrait of a couple and their small dog above the greeting Merry Christmas from the Lopez family in red script and serif type
Example result from our test run (October 2026). The finished card, laid out by our card code from the snow portrait above. The greeting and names are real text set by code, not drawn by the image model, so the spelling is exact. The names are sample text. Photo: Helena Lopes on Unsplash (Unsplash License).

How do you make a Christmas card from a photo with AI?

Upload a clear family photo to an AI image editor that keeps faces, describe the Christmas scene, and check every face against the original. Then lay the best portrait out at card size with bleed (5x7 inches plus 1/8 inch, or A6 plus 3 mm) at 300 DPI and add your greeting. The agent does every step.

What do you get from the Christmas Card Agent?

A Christmas card pack from your family photos: a set of AI Christmas portraits in the scene you pick, a card design with your names and greeting, a print-ready file with bleed at 300 DPI in standard card sizes, and a share image for messages. Faces are checked against your photos before anything is handed back.

How is this different from a free AI Christmas photo?

ChatGPT, Gemini and photo apps make one picture at a time and stop there. A card needs more: faces that still match, a layout with room for text, 1/8 inch or 3 mm of bleed, 300 DPI and the right trim size. The agent does those steps and asks you which portrait goes on the card.

What sizes are the print files?

5x7 inches with 1/8 inch bleed on every side (5.25 x 7.25 inches) for US print labs, and A6 (105 x 148 mm) with 3 mm bleed for UK and EU printers, both at 300 DPI. Text and faces stay at least 1/8 inch inside the trim line, so nothing important is cut off.

Questions

Can AI make a Christmas card from my family photo?

Yes. Image models can restage a photo (pyjamas, a fireplace, snow) and keep each person's face. The Christmas Card Agent also checks every face still looks like the person, lays out the card with your names and greeting, and exports print files in standard card sizes.

Why not just use ChatGPT or Gemini?

For one picture, you can. You'd still fix faces that drift, set the card size, add bleed and place the greeting yourself. The agent hands back the finished pack: portraits, a card design and print-ready files.

What happens to my children's photos?

You confirm you have permission to use every photo before the job starts. Photos are used only for your job, deleted within 72 hours of delivery, never shown in a public gallery and never used to train any model.

Which photos work best?

Works best with a clear, well-lit photo where each face is sharp and turned toward the camera, with one to four people or a pet. Faces that are small, turned away or in shadow match their photo less closely. The agent scores every face against your photo, redoes a portrait that scores under 0.80 at higher quality, and tells you if it still falls short. In our October 2026 test run, two scenes made from a photo of a couple seated far from the camera stayed under the bar even after a redo, so we did not use them.

Are the portraits from a real photographer?

No. AI makes the portraits from your photos. They are styled pictures of your family, not a record of a real photo shoot.

Can I print the card at home?

Yes. Print the 5x7 file on card stock with your printer's borderless setting, or trim the bleed off after printing. Any photo lab or online card printer takes the same file.

Can I make a photo card for free?

Yes. The free Christmas Card Maker on UpAgents puts your own photo and greeting on a 5x7, A6 or square card with bleed and saves a print-ready JPG, all in your browser. The agent adds the AI portraits and does the whole pack for you.

How much will Christmas Card Agent cost, and when does it launch?

Christmas Card Agent costs $9.99 for one card pack. It isn't live yet; it's planned for early November 2026.
